Oh, glorious day! All is right with the world again! Boots and I have moved a little further north in upstate New York; but we have been joined by someone very special… wait for it… Yes, Jen has flown up from Texas to meet us! We’ll be spending over a week together.
We’ve been hanging out for the last several days with relatives, Klaus and Loretta, just outside of Albany. Klaus is a professional brewer, creating and serving world-class beers in his own personal brew pub, Klaus Brau Haus. I’ve already been sampling his latest productions, and plan on having plenty more before we move on to the next destination. From here we’ll drive to South Hadley, Massachusetts for Jen’s
25-year reunion at Mount Holyoke College. She’s looking forward to seeing old friends and maybe making a few new ones too. Following that, we will drive on to Boston to visit another friend for a day or so before Jen finally flies back home to Austin early next week.
Give this girl credit. She’s been putting up with my insanity for a
long time now. I feel blessed to have such a person in my life, someone who not only puts up with my crazy adventures, but embraces me for who I am and everything I love. She’s not quite ready to be done with her professional career yet; but she would never begrudge me the opportunity to chase my own flights of fancy. Somehow we make it all work, thank goodness. And she even loves Boots!
John Lennon probably summed it up best when he proclaimed, “As usual, there is a great woman behind every idiot.”
